The Hats theatre is an independent theatre group from Belgrade, Serbia. It has existed in various constellations since 1992, when Ljudmila Stratimirovic for the first time presented her work as hat designer in form of performances. Since then she had many performances with the same group of people and in cooperation with other artists (as musicians, comic artists, light designers, VJs…) Their projects are a kind of contemporary spectacle, and are based upon a combination of all forms of stage and visual expressions which are relevant today: fashion, theatre (movement), rock roll, electronic music, video art, comics, photography... The Hats Theatre performed on many festivals in Serbia, Slovenia, Macedonia and Croatia. Beside theatre activities group has organized numbers of parties and exhibitions. Ljudmila Stratimirovic exhibited her work on many collective and individual exhibitions. She won annual award for hat performances at 1994. 1999 she received Highly commended diploma for swimming cap design at 100% Rubber, Design Competition 1999, London. She has collaborated with many musicians in Serbia as costume designer.
The Hats Theatre has four productions: Winter or dreams or travel in all directions (1997), Spring or nightmare in Serbia (1999, Summer, waves ... or, waiting in vain and life at the bottom (2001) and Fall... or how do I look? (2006) |
